Sunlight Lamp
Introduction
Twice a year it happens. Daylight savings puts the time either one hour ahead, or one hour back. I have a stressfull next week trying to remember how to set the time on my sunlight alarm!
I find it really hard to wake up in the dark. Many years ago my wife bought me a sunlight alarm and it changed my life! The problem is, i’ve long lost the instructions and it doesnt have anything on it to say what it is.
To make matters worse, this is one of those things that for some reason i just cannot seem to commit to memory! I finally decided that i needed to spend some time working out exactly how to do everything and write myself some more permanent instructions and commit them to Git so i can modify them if i am wrong, and witha bit of luck never actually lose them!
The Clock
The clock does a few different things. The most important part is the clock. Its a fairly basic digital clock in a dim orange. On the right-hand edge there is a button marked Dimmer | Time Set which cycles between bright, dim, off
The clock cannot be set while the alarm light is on.
The clock can be set when the alarm light is off by holding Dimmer | Time Set for a few seconds. It then works through the following settings which can be adjusted by pressing the -, OK, + buttons on the edge at the 11:00 position:
24h|12h- Hour
- Minute
The Alarms
The clock supports two alarms which can be turned on and off individually by pressing the 🔔1 or 🔔2 buttons on the edge at the 9:00 an 10:00 positions. An alarm is active (i.e. not disabled) when their icon shows to the left of the clock
The alarms have a start time. The light will begin at the lowest brightness level and will increase to the Max Brightness setting over the course of the Light Time setting.
Alarms can be snoozed by pressing the 💤 button on the edge at the 00:00 position.
The alrams can be set by holding the chosen alarm button for a few seconds. As with the clock, the following settings can be adjusted by pressing the -, OK, + buttons on the edge at the 11:00 position:
- Hour
- Minute
